Maybe a cupcake will make it better?

Geez, this dental appliance is the best weight loss tool ever!  I am 1 lb away from my goal weight, I don't recommend this to lose weight, but wow!

I am just now really getting good at eating with it and next week I get to go back and get things tightened, new things added and I will start the process all over again!    I get brackets on my bottom teeth and a bar behind them.

So, all in all, things are going well, I am attempting to eat more foods, not just liquids anymore!  One thing I am really going to miss is salads.  It is really hard to eat salad....  bah humbug!  I'll keep trying it and see how it goes.  Maybe I can get the hang of it!

It was a busy weekend, we got Bill and Judy's house painted ( ended up less work than we thought YAY!) and we got to spend some time with them.  Hopefully, Judy will get to come home on Thursday.  She is really ready and Bill is ready for her to be home too!

I'm still coughing my head off.  Everyone is telling me this thing lasts a while and they are NOT kidding!  I am not sure how I am going to do this 5K on Saturday.  I haven't been able to work out all week and get winded very easily.  I guess I'll do my best and forget the rest, right?

We had a fun day with friends and family over the weekend too!

Had lunch with the family on Friday.  Took the girls to the health food store and then for cupcakes?  Does that even go together?

The sign says Maybe and Cupcake will make it better!

Madelyn was so excited to eat her purple cupcake!

We got enough for everyone to try one!
They were a hit!
Madelyn took my pic for a change!

Went to dinner Saturday night for Julie's birthday.  Somehow, we ended up at the cupcake place again.  It is new.  I haven't had a whole one yet, but have had a couple of bites.  They were moist and tasty!

Last night, Lauren, Morgan and I went to see The Hunger Games.  Loved it.  It was fairly true to the book and we had a GREAT time!  Now, I'm excited for the next one.....  hurry up, already!

Going to attempt to get back to my Les Mills Pump workouts tonight!  Pump and Burn is on the schedule.  I may have to just gut it out!

Bright side, baby!

This week has flown by in a haze for me.  Saturday, Brian started working on the lot we purchased (next door to our house), cutting down trees and working on cleaning up the property somewhat.  He came in feeling a bit under the weather and we just decided it was allergies since he was working on the property.  Sunday, I started feeling yucky too.  Still thought it was probably allergies, but now since I am STILL fighting this crap, I don't think it is allergies....   I have coughed my head off....

We did manage to have our annual St. Patty's day family feast!  The kids all came over on Sunday.  Since Brian and I weren't feeling so great, it was a bit short lived, but we had a great time and the food was good!  I haven't been eating a lot due to my teeth.  They have been SORE! I've been living on shakeology, smoothies, and extremely soft foods.  But, I do think I have finally gotten the hang of eating with this device for now.  I go back in a couple of weeks for more excitement.  I'm sure he will be tightening things and I will get the hardware on my bottom teeth.  OH JOY!  One good thing about it, I've lost weight ;)  Bright side, baby!!!

But, I have been out and about a little in the last couple of days.  Yesterday I went shopping with Robin and Lisha and we had a good time, Robin got a good deal on her new computer and Lisha and I had fun!  No deals for us. - THIS TIME!  Somehow, we only took one photo and I think it could quite possibly qualify as the worst photo of all time....   this one will have to do instead.

We are going to be spending the weekend painting.  Brian's parents are going to be moving into a smaller house and we are going to be working along with Lisa (Brian's sister) painting and getting it ready.  Judy is still in the skilled nursing facility, hoping to get to come home this coming week.

The rain has been non-ending.  I so need the sunshine to come out.  It really does affect how I feel!  Makes me miss my vacation last month......

Saturday night will be a fun night with friends, celebrating Julie's birthday!

So, a lot of things going on, as usual!  I'm exhausted, but managing!

How has your week been?

Sufferin' Succotash!

It's been another busy couple of days.  Mads was here and we took advantage of the wonderful weather we are having and went to the park.

She had a blast as usual, was in a terrific mood and LOVED the swings!

Workouts are going well, Dawn, Brian and I are really liking the Les Mills PUMP!  We started week 2 this week and I have been super sore!  This is a good thing!

Yesterday we went to see Brian's mom and dad.  Judy is still in the skilled nursing facility after breaking her hip about a month ago.  Her hip has healed, but she is having some difficulty walking properly, so they are going to be keeping her for another couple of weeks so she can get some intesive physical therapy.  Please keep her in your prayers, she really wants to go home!  We took them lunch and got to visit for a few minutes before I had to be at the dentist.

I've had TMJ symptoms since high school.  I remember chewing gum in high school and my jaw completely locked up, it was so painful and I've had trouble since then.  I have a lot of pain, but just accepted that that was the way it was.  When I saw the dr's back then, they told me the only option was to break my jaw, have my mouth wired shut for about 6 weeks, ummmm, NO THANKS!  So, I've just dealt with it all this time.  I've worn a mouthpiece to sleep in for years, in fact I think I've been through about 7 of them.  I've broken them by grinding and clenching in my sleep.  So, the last one I had just fit over my two front teeth, I even ground that one down, so it was time to do something about it.  I wasn't a candidate for braces since I still have 3 baby teeth.  I KNOW!  How crazy is that, baby teeth at 46!  But, I just don't have any permanent teeth to push them out.  But, brackets for the braces will not work.

My friend Susan has been dating a wonderful guy, Scott for a while now and he is a dentist.  He kept telling me that he could probably help me, not completely fix me, but help me.  I finally got to the point that I was ready for that help.

So, I went to see him yesterday and he fitted me for a trampoline ( not the kind you jump on LOL), but a dental device that I will be wearing for quite some time ( 2 years) and he will be making corrections to it to spread my jaw and move my front teeth forward.

I've been a spitting and slurring machine all night last night and my teeth HURT!  He also put spacers on my bottom teeth in preparation for the work to come there in a couple of weeks.

My new best friends are ibuprofen and shakeology!  Eating anything is out of the question right now, too painful to put pressure on my teeth!

This is what the device looks like out of my mouth

and in my mouth.  I wear it all the time, only taking it out to brush my teeth.

Creepy photo!  HA HA!  Can't hardly see it, but you do notice when I try to talk! I made quite a few people laugh pretty hard yesterday and will probably do the same today!  I was told that I sound a bit like Sylvester the Cat.  Sufferin' Succotash!

I have a few days of pain in front of me, but it is tolerable and I am sure that it will be worth it in the long run!  So excited to get this thing going.

Oh and by the way, if you need a good dentist that is caring, nice and knowledgeable, go see Dr. Scott Goldstein in Anderson!!!

Stay cool people!

I was asked today if I was still a Beachbody Coach and just wanted to make sure everyone knew that YES, I am still a Beachbody coach!  I have been so busy for the last year, it seems that many things in my life took a bit of a back seat.

I am not having Fit Club anymore, after the tornado, no one was showing up, so I just canceled Fit Club.  If there is enough people that would like to come, I'd be more than happy to get another one going.  Just let me know if you are interested.

I am currently doing Les Mills Pump workouts.  I am in LURVE!!!  I may have found a new "soul mate" workout!  This workout is all about lighter weights, tons of reps!  I have been sore since I started this one!  If you want more info on it, let me know and I can get it to you or you can check it out at my website www.missourifitclub.com. Also, the new VEGAN shakeology is out!  It is strawberry tropical flavored and pretty yummy!  If you want info on this, let me know.  I have a few samples left if you want one.  There's a few things you have to do to get one, but I promise it isn't hard.....

We've had a good week or so.  Our friends (Danny and Linda) are getting married this week, so of course, there had to be a bachelor party, right?  Brian and the guys headed out over the weekend for some fun and that meant that friends came into town to hang out!

David and Lisa came from KC and us girls went out for a little fun of our own.  We went to dinner and a massage at the mall.  Doesn't get much better than that huh?

Lisa's girls were texting her photos of them acting all cool and cute, so Lisa and I decided to send them one of us.

I don't think it worked.....

Stay cool people!

Looking forward to a new beginning!

We've been to Houston and are home!  I'll post an update on Brian's news on the Fight of Our Lives tab.

All in all, we had a pretty good trip.  I am still exhausted and it may take a while to get over it.  I think all the stress has finally caught up with me now that I can breathe a bit!

I started Les Mills Pump yesterday.  Did Pump Challenge last night and getting ready to do the Flow and step workout tonight.  I have a feeling I may have found my new soul-mate workout!!!!  Love it so far and I am sore from yesterday, plus the fact that I am training for a 5K at the end of the month.  My calves are so sore, I have foam rolled, stretched and tried to walk it out today and they are still cramping. Geez!  I really love my rumble roller, it is my new best friend!!

Yesterday Jake has his wisdom teeth out, he did pretty good and has been hanging out with us today.  He's in a little bit of pain, but not too bad, thank goodness.  He didn't look so great yesterday right after surgery.

Brian's mom is still recovering from falling and breaking her hip.  She is going to be in the nursing home for at least another week.  Hopefully she will get to go home soon.  I know she is ready.

Mom and Dad's barn is coming along nicely.  We stopped by their house on the way home from Houston and got to see it in person.  The old one is still smoldering.  So stinkin' sad.  But, the new barn is going to be top notch.  I am excited for them for that!

I am going to be coaching the March class (along with Kecia and Beth Miriam) at marilu.com.  You should check it out.  It is a basics, steps class.  Will be good to get some refreshers and you get to pick a major and a minor to work on this time around.  I'll be coaching meat, sugar and food combining.  Gonna be a good one!

So, I am hoping that we have turned the corner and things are going to start looking up, we've had a rough start to this year and I'm looking forward to Spring and new beginnings!

I'm going to be getting back to Beachbody and Nerium.  So, if you are interested in either one, please get in touch with me.  Always looking for people to join our team, get in shape and have the best looking skin possible.

Thank you to each and every one of you for hanging in there with me through all this.  I so appreciate you!!
